Thoughts:
“The strongest Ecommerce owners are not solo warriors – they’re connected learners.”
“You’re not weak because you ask for help. You’re weak because you refuse to.”
“You don’t need more motivation. You need more people doing it beside you.”
I almost gave up on Ecommerce… not because I didn’t believe in the business…
But because I thought I was the only one struggling.
No one told me “this wahala is normal.”
So I suffered in silence.
Until I stopped acting like Rambo and started acting like someone who wanted to WIN.
I used to think asking questions made me look weak.
So I stayed quiet…
When delivery agents started disappearing with my money…
When customers were insulting me for late deliveries…
When ads were flopping and I didn’t know why.
I kept saying:
“I’ll figure it out.”
“It’s my business, I should know everything.”
“I’ll just try another product.”
But deep down, I was scared.
Scared that maybe I wasn’t smart enough.
Maybe I didn’t have the “Ecommerce brain.”
What I didn’t know was…
99% of the things I was struggling with had already been solved by people just like me.
Ecommerce isn’t a genius game.
It’s a community game.
You rise faster when you stop pretending you’re the first to suffer what you’re suffering.
The guy doing ₦10M, ₦20M, ₦30M/month isn’t better than you.
He’s just asking the right people the right questions and applying the answers FAST.
Most Ecommerce owners in Nigeria are stuck not because they’re lazy…
But because they don’t ask. They isolate. They do solo battles.
That’s why many people stay at ₦0–₦1M – ₦3M/month level for YEARS.
Because they’re not part of the conversations that change minds, fix systems, and create new income.
The mindset shift that changed everything for me
STRATEGY 1: Stop Acting Like You’re Special
Everyone wants to feel like their struggle is unique.
But it’s not.
You’re not the first person to run ads and get zero sales.
You’re not the only one whose rider disappeared with 10 orders with no updates.
What you’re going through is normal in Ecommerce.
But if you don’t speak up, you’ll keep learning the hard way – bleeding time, money, and energy.
The solution is simple:
Normalize asking.
That’s how smart people grow.
STRATEGY 2: Find a Room Where People Actually Solve Wahala
There are 2 types of groups:
- Vibe & gossip groups
- Results & solution groups
You need the second one.
A community where people don’t just rant, but actually give you frameworks, answers, plug-and-play tools, and say:
“Here’s exactly how I fixed that same problem.”
That kind of room makes you move 5x faster.
I remember one ESL member asked a question about how to stop failed deliveries from Bolt riders.
Within 3 hours, he got 4 answers…
One person even shared a trick their staff use daily.
That’s what support looks like.
That’s what you need.
STRATEGY 3: Act First. Ask After. Fix Fast.
Ecommerce is a doing game. Not a talking game.
Too many people sit in groups asking:
“What product is working?”
“What platform should I use?”
“Should I collect payment on delivery or not?”
But they haven’t even tried anything.
They’re not stuck – they’re scared.
They want perfect answers before they even start.
That’s why I always say:
Start moving. The questions will make more sense after the punch hits your face.
Try.
Fail.
Ask.
Fix.
Move.
That’s how we grow.
Now imagine if you had a private community…
Where you could ask any question…
And get real-time answers from people actively doing the business – not theory merchants.
