Some people are trying to build a ₦10M/week business with a once-a-week sales mindset.
But Ecommerce doesn’t reward the “best” business…
It rewards the one that moves the fastest.
Not “who has the nicest website.”
Not “who does customer service like Opay.”
Not even “who sells the most brilliant product.”
Nope.
It’s whoever moves stock the FASTEST.
Every. Damn. Day.
Let me tell you a bitter pill I had to swallow early in my Ecommerce journey…
There was this guy on IG who sold waist trainers.
Me? I was selling a unique teeth whitening kit that took 3 weeks to design, research, and build the funnel for.
My own had proper branding.
Paid a guy ₦75k for logo and packaging mockup.
This guy was literally snapping waist trainer photos on his mattress and posting every day.
He was doing ₦300k per day.
At some point I realized…
Ecommerce is not branding school.
It’s not a competition for most intelligent copywriting.
It’s a speed game.
Sell fast. Move fast. Deliver fast. Reinvest fast.
Volume is king. Daily sales is queen. Delivery is the palace.
Everything else? Decoration.
When you start making sales… then you can start branding.
Your profit is tied to your daily output – not your IQ.
You don’t need a genius idea. You need motion.
You’re not a tech startup. You’re not trying to “raise funding.”
You’re trying to sell something fast enough that you can collect money every day, fulfill orders, and repeat the cycle with more cash.
If you sell 5 products per day with ₦5k profit each, that’s ₦25k daily. That’s ₦750k per month.
Do that with 3 different products?
That’s how real Ecommerce people build empires in silence.
No long story.
3 STRATEGIES THAT FLIPPED MY MINDSET
1. Speed Over Sophistication
You don’t need the “perfect” product, or a fancy website, or to test 17 ad copies before you launch.
You need to get something moving.
That’s why I always say:
Don’t act like a chef… act like a shawarma seller.
The chef is obsessing over ingredients.
The shawarma guy is selling to 50 people before 10pm.
When you do the math, that’s like N1,500 x 50 = N75,000 x 30 days = N2,250,000
Now, he can decide hire someone and get a new spot after some months.
Why the chef is looking for investor to pay N10M for a space in freedom way, lekki.
Funny enough, over time, the shawarma guy will get more favours from investors if he decides to ask for help.
2. Daily Sales Is a Muscle
Selling once in a while is like going to the gym once a week.
Your muscles won’t grow.
Your business won’t either.
But once you start tracking how many sales you’re making per day, your entire mind will reset.
That’s why I stopped looking at “monthly goals” and started focusing on just one thing:
Can I get 10/20/100/200 orders today?
Every single day.
That 10 per day becomes 300 per month.
And if your profit per order is just ₦5k, that’s ₦1.5M profit in one month.
Volume is the key to winning in Ecommerce.
3. Move Like a Machine (Then Scale It)
One mistake I made for too long was waiting till I had over 20 orders unattended to…
Before thinking of delivery or asking the supplier again.
Big mistake.
The people making money in Ecommerce move like a machine:
- Product sourced and ready
- Ads running every day
- Team closing every lead
- Delivery team on standby
Even when they make ₦10k profit per order, they’re doing 50 orders a day.
That’s ₦500k profit. Daily.
That’s what I mean when I say move like a machine.
