Thoughts:
“You can’t scale chaos. If your delivery system breaks at 50 orders, why pray for 500?”
“Running ads without inventory depth is like throwing a party with no food. Hungry guests don’t come back.”
“Before you aim for 100 orders a day, ask yourself: can you deliver 100 orders today?”
You know what kills more Ecommerce sales than bad ads?
Logistics.
If your product isn’t available where your customer is…
You’ve already lost.
Last year, one of our students ran a ₦100k per day ad campaign for a hot product.
Orders were flying in. She thought she had made it.
But guess what?
She only had 300 pieces in stock… and the supplier “swore” he could restock her in 3 days.
By the 5th day, angry customers were calling.
Delivery was delayed.
Refund requests were coming before she got customers to pay commitment fees and some paid in full.
And like a thief in the night…
That momentum? It died.
She didn’t just lose the money she made.
She lost the chance to scale.
However, she has gone to make millions by learning from that experience.
And in Ecommerce, momentum is everything.
Too many of you are fighting for more sales…
When your backend can’t handle volume.
You want to sell in 36 states, but all your stock is chilling in Lagos.
And the #1 weakness I see in Nigerian Ecommerce is:
No Inventory Depth.
No Delivery System.
No Local Product Stations.
You think you have a sales problem?
Nah.
You have a logistics bottleneck that’s choking your scale.
How To Fix Your Logistics For Massive Growth
STRATEGY 1: Don’t Sell What You Can’t Deliver
A business is not built on hope.
You must plan inventory before running ads.
Here’s what I now tell my students:
“If you can’t fulfill 10X the orders you’re getting today… pause. Fix backend first.”
Too many of you buy 100 units, make a few sales… then say “Let me scale.”
No.
Scaling without inventory is like inviting 100 guests… and cooking one pot of jollof.
Shame go catch you.
If you’re serious about growth, you need:
- Backup suppliers / serious suppliers.
- Inventory tracking.
- A plan for restock BEFORE the stock finishes.
Don’t get popular… and go out of stock.
Next? Let’s talk about how to avoid slow deliveries.
STRATEGY 2: Use Local Product Stations
Think of it like this…
Jumia has warehouses in Lagos, Abuja, PH, Kano.
And small product stations in every state.
Why?
Because no matter how good your product is…
If it takes 5 days to arrive, customer go vex.
Your customers are not patient. Especially in Nigeria.
So what do smart Ecommerce owners do?
Send bulk products to different warehouse.
Or they rent small spaces (even shelves inside existing shops) in key cities.
They send stock ahead.
That way, when someone in Kano orders…
Your rider just picks it up in Kano and delivers.
Or best, your delivery agent is already with the product so they delivery fast.
No ₦5k waybill every time you want to deliver. No delay.
Even if you’re not big yet…
Start thinking like someone who will be.
Ready for the next level? Here’s how to predict what state needs more stock.
STRATEGY 3: Let Your Order Data Guide Your Inventory
This one’s simple.
If you sold 110 orders last month…
And 40 came from Abuja, 30 from Lagos, 30 from PH, and 10 from Ibadan…
Why is all your stock sitting in Lagos?
Use your order data to plan where to send stock.
Don’t guess. Use data.
Every week, review your delivery locations.
Set a simple rule like:
- Any city with 10+ orders a week = send stock.
This is how you go from small-time hustle to real Ecommerce business.
Success doesn’t come from the “front end” of Ecommerce only (ads, nice videos, catchy headlines).
The real scale comes from the boring stuff:
Stock planning. Delivery structure. Logistics SOPs.
When you fix that?
Your business becomes unstoppable.
So… how do you actually build that kind of system?
