It’s not picking the right product.

In the beginning, I had days where I would stare at my screen for 3 hours. Not doing anything.
Not checking ads.
Not replying customers.
Just scrolling WhatsApp and Instagram…
Watching people win.
And wondering, “Why is this thing working for them and not me?”
Then I’ll tell myself, “Maybe I’m not the type of person this works for.”
Maybe I’m too late.
Maybe I’m not smart enough.
Maybe I don’t know the right people.
But deep down… I knew what was wrong.
It wasn’t the business. It was my mindset.
I didn’t decide to win.
I was still waiting for proof that I could.
Most people try Ecommerce with one leg inside.
They want to see profit before they commit.
But it doesn’t work like that.
Ecommerce, like real life, doesn’t respond to your “doubts”.
It responds to your decision.
When you decide that you’re going to win – no matter how long it takes, no matter how hard it gets – something shifts.
You stop thinking like a victim.
You start thinking like a builder.
You stop quitting every 3 weeks.
You start testing, adapting, and building systems that actually work.
And then… the money starts showing.
Not because the product changed.
But because you changed.
How To Start Winning If You’re Used To Losing
1. Win In Your Mind First
Before you run your first ad… you need to run one ad in your head:
Tell yourself – “I’m the kind of person who figures it out.”
The mind can’t build what the heart doesn’t believe.
You will always self-sabotage the business you don’t believe is yours to win.
So here’s what I did – I created a “Winner Folder” on my phone / Google drive.
Any time I closed a sale, helped someone, hit a goal or figured something out, I screenshotted, screen-recorded, and saved it there.
That folder helped me remind myself, “You’ve done hard things before. You’ll do this too.”
You just learn how to find suppliers? Save it
You hit N1M per day in sales? Add it
You hired your first staff, and you were able to relax for hours? Save it
The real first product is belief. Without it, nothing else sells.
But that’s just one small mental upgrade. The next one is even sneakier…
2. Stop Comparing Your Starting Point to Someone’s Middle
Social media has fooled us all.
You see someone posting “100 deliveries today” and you think you’re failing.
But what you didn’t see was the 3 years of learning, crying, testing, and failing that got them there.
Comparison is a thief. But not of joy… of energy.
It drains your focus from your own journey.
It distracts you from doing the boring work that brings the real results.
So I stopped comparing.
And started copying… 😏
YES… copy.
Don’t copy their product; because anyone can do that, so do this instead.
I found people ahead of me and copied how they think, how they test, how they structure offers, and much more.
And I started seeing similar results.
Don’t compare your 100 days with someone’s 1000 days.
Which brings me to the next mindset secret…
3. You’re Allowed To Win Slowly
Let this sink in:
Success doesn’t need to be fast. It just needs to be real for you.
Nobody’s clapping when you’re figuring things out in silence.
Nobody’s sharing your posts when you’re testing new offers.
But that silent season is what builds loud results.
Most people quit at ₦100k because they didn’t become ₦1M rich in 3 weeks.
But the ones who made ₦10M?
They were just doing ₦100k consistently for longer.
Don’t rush.
This is not a sprint. It’s a money marathon.
And the finish line is sweeter when it’s quiet on the road.
Focus on your goal. If it’s ₦100k per day. Find ways to get it done.
If it’s ₦1m per day, find things to fix and scale.
You can achieve any goal with enough hard work, feedback, and execution time.
