Thoughts:
“If your offer doesn’t make them pause, it won’t make them pay.”
“The extras you give are what make you extra-ordinary.”
“A boring product with a bold offer will always outsell a bold product with a boring offer.”
Nobody needs what you’re selling.
And that’s your biggest opportunity.
When last did you wake up and say, “I need a new water bottle”? Never.
But slap a “Limited Edition BTS Glow-in-the-dark Bottle with Free Mystery Gift” on that thing?
Boom.
You’ll start considering it.
This is the truth many Ecommerce owners refuse to accept:
People don’t buy because of need.
They buy because they want to feel something.
Safe. Smart. Sexy. Lucky. Important.
Even if they don’t say it out loud… their brain is wired that way.
And if you don’t give them a REASON to pick your product over someone else’s, guess what?
They’ll scroll past your ad.
Even if your product is amazing.
Even if you’re cheaper.
Even if it “makes sense.”
And value is usually something extra they can’t explain but feel.
Last month, a student inside Ecommerce Success Launchpad sent me his new product funnel.
A generic skincare product for stretch marks.
Good before and afters.
Nice price.
But no sales.
So I asked him, “Why should I buy from you instead of the 1,000 other people selling the same thing?”
He paused. That was the problem.
We added 4 bonuses: a free stretch mark Maintenace guide…
A 7-day meal plan for glowing skin, (something else)
And a WhatsApp group for follow-up & skin transformation stories.
Same product. Same price.
But now? It had reasons to be picked.
He sold 250+ units in 14 days.
While, we also increased the price.
Why? Because it felt like a movement, not just a lotion.
That’s what people want.
That feeling.
That “more than just the product” experience.
You’re not fighting for attention anymore.
You’re fighting for meaning.
Give people a reason, and they’ll give you money.
Here’s how to win this battle:
1. Stack Value Like Jollof Rice at a Party.
Let me say it as plain as I can:
The product alone is not enough.
Your product is just the rice – dry and basic on its own.
What makes people line up for seconds at a party isn’t the rice.
It’s the combo.
The fried big “Yoruba party” dry meat (if you know, you know)
The dodo.
The moimoi with sucked egg and fish.
The juicy peppered chicken.
The salad with that strange cream everybody still eats anyway.
That’s what makes the plate exciting.
That’s how your offer should feel.
Don’t just give them the thing they came for.
Add a little madness.
Add a free product.
A bonus eBook.
A silly sticker that makes them laugh.
A free sample for their friend.
Your offer should feel like, “Wait… all this for this price?”
That’s when people feel stupid not to buy.
2. Give Them the Future Before It Happens.
If you’re selling a tummy wrap, don’t just post “Strong compression wrap, burns fat.”
Nobody wakes up craving compression.
Sell the outcome.
Sell the woman walking past her ex at the wedding, waist snatched, head high, glowing.
Help them see what their life will look like after using your product.
It’s not a wrap. It’s revenge in lace. It’s the confidence to wear anything they like.
When people can picture themselves winning because of your product, they buy without thinking twice.
3. Create Emotional Justification.
People buy with emotions first.
Then they lie to themselves with logic.
That’s why it’s better to say “You’ll finally stop hiding from the camera” than “It clears acne fast.”
Nobody wants cream.
They want to post selfie without filter and feel proud.
You must tap into the shame, hope, pride, fear, or ego that makes someone click “Buy Now” before their brain catches up.
Here’s the wild part…
Most of you are still killing yourself over product quality.
You keep shouting “organic ingredients!” and “this approved, that approved!”
But let me give you the bitter truth:
A weak product with a strong offer will always outsell a strong product with a weak offer.
It hurts. But if you understand this, you can use it to print money.
Or… you can keep crying about why your “amazing product” isn’t moving.
Your choice.
This is not an opportunity to sell a bad product; it’s an opportunity to create a better offer.
You can do this too.
You don’t need to be a genius marketer or branding wizard.
You just need the right tools, done-for-you examples, and the exact copy templates that make customers say, “TAKE MY MONEY!”
