Thoughts:
“People don’t buy your product. They buy the peace of mind that comes with it.”
“Show them the gist, not the grammar. Proof wins more sales than polish.”
“If trust is low, no offer is sweet enough. Build trust first. Always.”
You want more sales? Then stop selling. Start proving.
The average Nigerian customer has trust issues.
And I don’t blame them. Too many people have messed up the street.
You post a picture of one thing… deliver another.
You ghost after collecting money.
You promise results you know damn well your product can’t deliver.
So now, even if you’re legit… they treat you like you’re not.
They’ll chat with you for 2 weeks.
Say “I’ll get back to you.”
And vanish like NEPA light.
But what if I told you that wasn’t their fault?
What if I told you: they want to buy. They just don’t want to be fooled again.
Once I understood that… everything changed for me.
The way Nigerian customers think is not random. It’s trauma.
They’re not “broke.”
They’re just scared of wasting their money. Again.
So here’s how I flipped my game:
Instead of trying to convince people to trust me…
I started showing them that they could.
And instead of trying to “sell the product”…
I started selling peace of mind.
See the difference?
How to make people buy from you easily
Secret 1: Sell Like a Barbershop Gossip
Before a Nigerian buys from you, they need gist.
Receipts. Stories. Wahala.
That’s what testimonials are.
You’re not selling skincare.
You’re selling “See what happened to this babe’s face after 2 weeks…”
The crazier the before-and-after, the faster the sale.
You think it’s small, but people don’t believe what you say…
They believe what other people say about you.
So collect screenshots like rent.
Ask for feedback aggressively.
Turn your buyers into your billboard.
Secret 2: Address Their Fear BEFORE They Ask
When you post your product, your caption shouldn’t sound like a bulletin.
It should feel like you’re reading their mind.
“Will it work for my kind of skin?”
“What if it burns me?”
If you know the fear already, talk about it before they bring it up.
Example:
“This cream is safe for sensitive skin and we have over 200 happy customers who said so. Pay on delivery is available nationwide.”
Simple. Calm. Straight to the point.
Nobody wants to think too much.
Remove confusion from your copy, and you’ll remove fear from their brain.
Secret 3: Give Them a Clear Promise, Then Deliver FAST
Most buyers are not looking for a 100% guarantee.
They just want you to say something clear and do it.
“Delivery in 2–3 days.”
“Money-back if it doesn’t work.”
“Call us if anything goes wrong.”
Then actually pick up your calls.
You want to build trust? Deliver better than they expected.
If you said 3 days, shock them with 1 or 2.
If you said 10ml, send them 2ml extra = 12ml.
If you said free bonus… include it.
That’s how you turn a first-time buyer into a returning customer.
Now Read This Twice: People Buy Emotion First. Logic Later.
Think about it…
Nobody “needs” the 3rd skincare bottle.
They’re buying the feeling of confidence.
Nobody “needs” the 7th delivery outfit.
They’re buying the compliments.
So sell the emotion. Prove the logic.
