Thoughts:
“Facts tell. Feelings sell.”
“If they can’t feel it, they won’t buy it.”
“Sales rise when people see themselves in your copy.”
Your product is not the hero.
Your customer’s pain is.
Until you start talking like you’re solving a real-life problem, not just selling “vitamin C” or “pain patch”…
You’ll keep sounding like everybody else.
And guess what people do with “everybody else”?
They scroll past.
We used to post like a catalogue.
“Knee pain cream – N20,500. Free delivery. DM to order.”
Crickets.
Then one random day, we tried something different.
We said:
“If you’re tired of waking up with stiff joints that make you feel older than your father, this cream helps you move again without shouting ‘ah!’ every time you stand up.”
That one post?
3x more engagement.
More orders. More saved numbers.
That’s when we got it.
People don’t want products. They want relief.
Nobody buys a product because of its “natural ingredients” or “vitamin blend.”
They buy because they want to feel better, look better, or stop suffering.
It’s like someone stuck in Lagos traffic with a dead phone.
You don’t pitch them the “battery capacity.”
You say: “This powerbank will bring your phone back to life while you’re stuck in third mainland bridge hell.” LOL
That’s what good Ecommerce copy does.
It meets the customer where they already are… and shows them the way out.
How to write copies like this…
1. Sell Feelings, Not Features
Nobody wakes up thinking, “I need collagen and turmeric in my life.”
They wake up thinking, “I’m tired of hiding my arms because of these stretch marks.”
They think, “My back is killing me, and I’m tired of swallowing painkillers like chin-chin.”
That’s the gap most people miss.
They’re busy shouting “Made with organic XYZ”…
Meanwhile the customer is thinking:
“Will this thing help me feel normal again?”
Here’s the truth:
Feelings sell. Features just explain.
Instead of saying:
“Made with anti-inflammatory ingredients…”
Say:
“This cream makes you walk into a room and not care who’s staring at your skin.”
You’re not selling a cream.
You’re selling confidence, comfort, and relief.
Use their words. Speak their pain. Paint their future.
Emotion sells. Facts just explain.
2. Show the Before State Clearly
One of the fastest ways to close a sale?
Describe their current suffering better than they can.
When they read your post, watch your video creatives and say,
“Wait… how do you know that? How did you get inside my mind?”
That’s when you’ve won.
Don’t say:
“This helps with chronic fatigue.”
Say:
“When you sleep 8 hours but still wake up feeling like a trailer parked on your chest…”
Don’t say:
“It supports digestion.”
Say:
“If your stomach swells like white ijebu garri anytime you eat beans & bread, this helps flatten it in hours.”
That’s what makes them feel seen.
And when people feel seen, they believe you understand them.
And when they believe that?
They trust you with their money.
This is not just for ads, this is also something your sales people should know.
3. Explain Benefits With Analogies
If they don’t understand it, they won’t buy it.
Simple.
That’s why analogies work like magic.
They turn complex health or skincare terms into pictures people can see and feel.
And when they can picture it, they’ll take action faster.
Don’t say:
“It improves circulation.”
Say:
“It’s like pouring warm water through a blocked pipe – your body starts moving again without the usual pain.”
Don’t say:
“Strengthens your immune system.”
Say:
“It’s like giving your body extra security guards during flu season.”
Don’t say:
“Boosts collagen production.”
Say:
“It’s like putting bounce back into your skin – so you stop looking tired all the time.”
What is the secret to writing like this?
I’ll tell you…
When you know about it, you can use AI to generate a lot of it.
The secret is…
Relatable Analogies.
Analogies turn your message from science lab into everyday life.
And that’s how you win the sale.
Because they understand how useful your product is.
This shift in how I wrote about products?
It changed everything.
More clicks. More comments. More DMs. More cash.
And the truth is – anyone can do this.
You just need a system that shows you how to write like that consistently…
how to think like your customer…
and how to turn features into solutions.
